Chocolate Drinks

Chocolate has largely replaced cocoa powder for beverages. These drinks are easier to prepare and most of these chocolates can be used to make cold drinks.

Contrary to what some believe, in fact, the amount of caffeine in a typical 1.4 ounce chocolate bar or an 8-ounce glass of chocolate milk is about equivalent of that found in a cup of decaffeinated coffee. Chocolate contains only small amount of caffeine but has a lot do theobromine, close relative similar effects.

The research also shows that milk chocolate has the same amount of antioxidants as five –ounce glass of red wine.

Drinking chocolate generally consist of 70 percent sugar and 30 percent cocoa powder. Some are just simple mixture with some added flavor, but more often a process is used that cooks and agglomerates the particles of sugar and cocoa.

One of the famous chocolate drinks is hot chocolate. Hot chocolate is rich and creamy. It is easy to make. Juts a chocolate bar, milk will give terrific hot chocolate.

Hot chocolate is the ideal vehicle not only for warm fragrant cinnamon, but also for pungent spices such as smoky chipotle chile and coriander.
